I was amused to see Karunanidhi once again taking on Hindu/brahmin sentiments, suggesting they should do away with wearing the thilak or ash(viboothi) and brahmins should give up wearing the sacred thread...
Wonder if these are the issues strangulating the common man today, why not address direct issues such as price rise, steeply rising corruption at all levels, hooliganism at all levels, unprecedented power cuts.. instead taking recourse to age old practice of the DK and DMK of hindu/brahmin will not work with people anymore.
If such a staunch non believer himself, why not show the way by asking women of his household to stop wearing the kumkum on their forehead...

Political parties have their own little mud slinging games, in between which the common person is trapped.. and i guess TN is worse off.. "who is worse off between the two biggest threats to the state Mk or J" is the question..

Vish, As usual your comment has hit home the point! The Brahmin hatred has been there for several decades now and wonder if the symbolism really matters!!Considering that the political situation has deteriorated so much I agree with you that time and effort are in the wrong direction!
